Flag Football League

HI guys, been talking to some people about starting a 5 on 5 FF league in Norton, either the Parks or the Youth Football will run it probably together dunno yet. What I'm doing is seeing how many here would be interested in it, would you want a Spring and Fall league?
Preliminary rules would be roster of 10 players 5 on field 5 subs, sign up is $200-$250 per team, play on an 80 x 40 yard field(end zones are 10 yards)playing rules not set. Rules being discussed are 3 plays to cross midfield and 3 more to score; or 3 plays to get a 1st down. There would be no laterals 1 handoff behind the line, QB can't run downfield. Games most likely will be played at Clear Creek park in Ramsey

it would be easier to control, but harder and more competitive to make teams get a first down doing it this way:

Team A has first at 10 yard line. they have 4 downs to get past the 20 yard line and further. Have 3 major yard lines (besides goal lines): 2 20 yards and a 40 yard line dividing the field into 2 halves. It also makes the game more competitive if you have laterals, yet it is harder for the officials to get into position to make sure the ball is not tossed or thrown forward as players run down the field.

Just some thoughts for ya to incorporate into your game.

Would be interested in a fall league. Priced at $200 should be good, but bad field. Ramsey's field is way to rough, hard and unlevel.

Could 15 and 16 year olds play in it?

I would say no unless you had a parent signed slip that was drawn up by the moderator of the league. Just my opinion because of liability and injury reasons.
